Improving access to jobs and training in Derbyshire and Nottinghamshire
The Access Alliance Programme (AAP) aims to support and develop sustainable transport solutions throughout Derbyshire and Nottinghamshire, which link residents with jobs, training and other services. The schemes are aimed principally at young people and those without access to a private car.
Funding is targeted at those transport schemes which best meet the transport needs of urban and rural communities throughout the area. Schemes must:
- contribute towards the aims of the Programme
- deliver significant economic (and social) outputs
- offer best value for money and
- hold out strong prospects for future viability.
The Programme is managed by STAR(external link) on behalf of Derbyshire Economic Partnership(external link) (DEP).
In the first phase of the Programme which completed in November 2008, funding of over £400,000 was awarded across 26 projects. Phase 2, which commenced in December 2008, built upon the success of Phase 1. A total project fund of £400,000 was made available to support a minimum of 20 sustainable transport schemes by November 2010.
